Recurring Events
Posted by Brad on July 18th, 2011For more information about recurring events, including times and locations, check out CFI-Ottawa’s MeetUp site.
Sunday Unsermon
Inspired by the “Unconvention,” the Unsermon is a religious service in reverse. It’s an opportunity for unstructured conversation in small groups, with topics chosen by participants (though usually inspired by current events, upcoming or recent CFI meetings, ethical/moral issues, or popular discussions from the wider sceptic/atheist community).
Unsermons are held on alternating Sundays, from 12:30 to 2:30. Meet and share your ideas with humanists, freethinkers, and atheists in the Ottawa area!
Living Without Religion
Living Without Religion meetings give participants an opportunity to discuss issues that have arisen in their own lives that are a result of religion or of having left a religious tradition. These meetings are not for debate or philosophical discussion, but rather to provide a safe space to express concerns and seek support. We welcome people from all along the spectrum of belief and non-belief.
The Living Without Religion support group meets on alternating Sundays, from 12:30 to 2:30.
Science, Society, and Beverages Book Club
Meeting on the first Monday of each month, the Book Club covers a wide variety of books on such topics as religion/philosophy, science, and politics. Meetings include a presentation from a designated reader followed by discussion, all in a relaxed setting with beverages.
Social Get-Togethers, Potlucks
CFI-Ottawa will occasionally host other social events, such as potlucks, solstice celebrations, board game nights, etc. Keep an eye on our MeetUp group for more information!
